Views from the NSBA Conference in Denver
The National School Boards Association Conference this year was in Denver, Colorado. Even though I spent time in Colorado between 2004 and 2006, I never made it to downtown Denver. It’s definitely a neat place. The conference was great. It’s always very insightful to see what divisions across the nation are doing and the challenges they are facing. I attended various sessions in coding, as I really believe this is something we should be introducing to students at all levels. Virginia Beach is starting to move in this direction thankfully. Virginia Beach City Public Schools was well represented, as our superintendent, vice-chair, and members of senior staff presented at various sessions and spoke on various panels. We also received an award for our efforts to be a more digital school division.
